Common Questions

Frequently Asked

Who actually shows up to do the work?+
Our own people. Nicholas runs the company and is onsite for estimates and the start of most jobs. The crew doing the actual repair is in-house — not day labor, not rotating subcontractors. You meet the team and work with the same people from estimate through completion.
Do you use subcontractors?+
For the core foundation, waterproofing, crawl space, drainage, and concrete work — no. All of that is handled by Cornerstone employees. For highly specialized adjacent work (electrical for a sump pump circuit, for example) we occasionally coordinate with a licensed subcontractor, but they are always selected and supervised by us.
Are your crew members background-checked?+
Yes. Everyone who represents Cornerstone at a customer home is vetted before they join the team. Given we work inside basements, crawl spaces, and attached garages, customer trust is non-negotiable.
How experienced are the people on the crew?+
Nicholas brings 24+ years of hands-on construction and foundation experience. Crew members are trained on our specific systems — wall anchors, carbon fiber straps, interior drainage, pier installation — and stay current on manufacturer certifications where applicable. We do not send untrained people out alone.
How does communication work during the job?+
You get a single point of contact on the crew — typically the lead for your specific job — plus the office for scheduling and billing. You will know who is arriving each day, when, and what they are doing. No silent treatments, no vanishing crews. If anything changes, you hear about it from us first.
